Considering My Landscape
This work explores the relationship between gender politics, the domestic scene, my life as a woman and a painter, and the allegorical nature of light on my landscape, discussing the ancient themes of worlds within worlds. As a woman, the landscape I have inhabited can seem narrow and boundaried – an ugly vision of confinement and containment, a room full of yearning discontent, a door into the internal landscape of lust and the chaos of desire.
