Talisman – for JCW

This painting is the result of several years travel in and around the waterways of southern Tasmania, specifically Bruny Island and D’Entrecasteaux Channel. Its glaciated and fragmented nature makes for a complex and varible landscape and waterscape. The idea of combining schematic cartographic representatiion with the pictorial underpins my work. The title refers to Paul Serusier’s proto abstract painting of that name.
