The Lonely Sea and Sky

In 2010 I joined a group of volunteers on a ten day working bee on Tasman Island. Being perched 300 metres directly above the ocean and surrounded by sea and sky I had never before experienced such a sense of space. In my spare time I managed to do some studies but the painting I really wanted to do would have to wait till I was back in my studio where I could work on a larger scale and hopefully capture the grandeur of this iconic place as well as the never-ending wind. The title is borrowed from a poem, Sea Fever by John Masefield.
