Cap de la Sortie

Cap del la Sortie forms the northern headland on Bull Bay on Bruny Island, where I have my studio. Rather than taking a pictorial view of the landscape I am considering, I use a schematic form. This gives me a chance to organise, compose and construct the painting and to rework repeatedly in order to arrive at a painting that is an independent image. I am looking for the sensation of this familiar landscape rather than its depiction.
