Concrete Landscape, 2011

acrylic & chinograph pencil on aluminium

101 x 120cm

From the artist

Three slabs of concrete occupy the space between my kitchen window and the boundary beyond. For the past three years I have gazed at this scene – an essentially featureless flat plane of the palest white-grey. Old paving stone arranged by my son as obstacles for his bike riding antics, have stained the surface of the slabs.
