Glover's Folly, 2017

oil on canvas

120 x 190 cm (diptych)

From the artist

The wide valley at the foothills of Ben Lomond towards Upper Blessington is a catchment for light. Referencing Glover’s strange inclusion of dreams of Arcadia, a Greek temple hides in the long shadows. Meanings shift, a sense of place becomes multi-layered, past and present fuse and we feel our yearning for a glorified world.
