A moment in space in the Lake Dobson area. The species of plants growing in these upland Tasmanian environments are survivors of the super-continent of Gondwana – Myrtle, King William Pine and Pandani. I've depicted just another unremarkable moment in a place of heightened beauty, a very specific, dark and ornate cloister.
Lives and works in Hobart. Exhibiting since mid-1970s. Recipient of Arts Tasmania Wilderness Residency 2002 and Children's Book Council Awards 2007, 1995 & 1992. Glover Prize finalist 2004, 2010, 2015, 2016. People's Choice 2010 & Children's Choice 2014. Bundanon Residency 2014.
