From the artist

As an artist, a relative newcomer to Tasmania and a female descendent of an early British colonist, I believe we must see ourselves as an integrated part of the natural world, not separate and at a distance from it. This painting evoke for me the feeling of being in Tasmania's high country.

Artist background

Originally from Melbourne. Has lived and worked in Hobart since 2004. Highly commended in Blake Prize 2012. Finalist in Bay of fFires Art Prize 2012; Togart Contemporary Art Prize Darwin 2009; Waterhouse 2005; & Sovereign Asia Art Prize Hong Kong 2005.
