From the artist

The image is another picture in a series documenting the landscape around Narawntapu National Park in the mid-north coast of Tasmania. In the image I have attempted to record the effects of the fading light on the intricate foliage of the she oak stand.

Artist background

Born in Launceston 1951. Lives and works in Hobart. Exhibiting since mid-1980s primarily in Hobart, Melbourne and Sydney. Major retrospective, University of Tasmanain Launceston 2015. Solo shows include QVMAG 2013-14;.and Deakin University Melbourne 2010. Winner of Hobart Art Prize 1991; John Leslie Prize Gippsland 1999; and Glover Prize 2006 & 2016. Finalist in Wynne Prize 2008 & 2009. Represented in many major state and national public gallery collections.
