Debate over the use of the Tamar Valley as a pulp mill site has focused attention on this area. I am interested in industry sits in ‘picturesque’ landscape. The physical intervention into the environment, with its cleared sections heavy machinery tracks and forest remains is concentrated at ground level. The building up of texture on the canvas aims to go beyond a painting of a scene and to take on references to a forensic examination.
