From the artist

On the day I set out to paint this picture, I was looking for the place where Piguenit painted his black and white view of Mt Gell. I stopped searching and started this painting when I saw an amazing play of light in the foreground trees.

Lives and works in Hobart. Exhibiting since mid-1970s. Recipient of Arts Tasmania Wilderness Residency 2002 and Children's Book Council Awards 2007, 1995 & 1992. Glover Prize finalist 2004, 2010, 2015, 2016. People's Choice 2010 & Children's Choice 2014. Bundanon Residency 2014.
