Near Launceston (Culdesac), 2010

oil & thread on canvas

80 x 181cm

From the artist

This is a vision of the private terrain of the suburban streetscape and backyard views as houses and suburb as the fringe of Launceston spill into a valley. It is a sweeping detailed view of new suburbia and the potential of a built future to come, in the form of the cul-de-sac as year laid bare and waiting its residents.
