Night Passage, Cataract Gorge

I wanted to capture the fragility and vulnerability of humans within the deceptively powerful, beautiful and dangerous landscape of the Cataract Gorge. The boat symbolises the self as a singular entity adrift in unforgiving waters leading to unknown encounters. For many, myself included, the Gorge has also underpinned the passage of time between youth and adulthood. The play, the flirtation, the exploration – all laden with irresistible possibilities.
