On the way to Port Davey, 2010

oil on linen

136 x 190cm

From the artist

Pitched forward into the cold winds of the Southern Ocean, amidst sea spray, we watch distant monolithic islands loom closer on our way to Port Davey. Discomfort heightening reality. Lemon yellow light transforming the world... Glimpses of another landscape hang over the horizon. We sense a world in a constant state of becoming, in perpetual motion. A landscape both old and new.
