Snow Melt, Cradle Mountain

I have been visiting Cradle Mountain for over 40 years. The transformation of the environment due to seasonal changes and the daily transition of time and weather have been constant sources of material to work with. Whilst on a walk one sunny warm autumn day towards Marion’s Lookout, there was an unpredictable snowstorm, leaving a huge snow dump. However the sun returned quickly, resulting in a fast snowmelt. This transition inspired this painting.
