From the artist

Southport is a small seaside community 100km south of Hobart. On a calm day the sea shimmers and the blues and purples of the distant mountains are so different from the mellow North West Coast where I live. It is rather a lonely place with an air of lawlessness often found in isolated places.

Artist background

Born Hobart 1948. Live and works from Lower Mt Hicks. Exhibiting throughout Tasmania since late 1970s. Winner of Portia Geach 1986, 1987 & 2009; and Island Art Prize 2001. Represented in major Tasmanian public collections.
