The Philosopher’s Forest

We are held by the mystery of the dark bark midst the threads of colour and are asked to think about whether painting should have an implied meaning or whether it should be wordless and purely a heartfelt response. Does the painter allow the oil colour, vital and alive, to speak for itself or intuitively? Is everything we have thought and experienced in every stroke? Like life itself we ask, what lies in the distance?
