The Red Tree 2

In 1996 Landcare painted a tree on the Midlands Highway red to symbolise the serious plight of Tasmania’s rural tree decline and the wide spread erosion of the area. That same year some read this tree as heresy and burnt it to the ground. On the site is now the word TREE made from pine and also painted red.
