Three Tasmanian Valleys painted at the Lochiel salt plains

While Tasmanian and South Australian landscapes may differ in relation to geography, weather conditions, and quality of light and therefore colour differences and compositional arrangement, I continue to choose to work largely on site rather than in the studio in an attempt to capture such specificities. Here the visual experience and artists records of the Tamar, Fingal and Derwent valleys become one in a composition that incorporate their individual characteristics with the presence and colour of the salt plains, dusts and grasses that are my constant companions when working in the field on a hot and windy day.
