From the artist

The work showcases a subterranean orchid, thismia rodwayi (commonly known as fairy lantern), as well as different forms of jelly fungi, and the complex relationship between the flora and the landscapes of the forest. The exclusive compounds of leaf litters from dogwood and musk trees create the environment in which the fairy lantern exists, and nowhere else. In a forest near where I live I discovered a previously unknown colony of these orchids.
