Wildflowers, Bruny Island

My paintings at the moment are about reducing a view to its simplest form, colour and line. I am intentionally aiming to paint something that can still be read as brushstrokes and planes of colour but that in some way captures a sense of place. This particular painting resulted from a trip to Bruny Island on a sunny and windy day. There was this new flush of life coming from the wildflowers.
