Apparition (Central Highlands)

Travelling through the Tasmanian Central Highlands I was struck by the phenomenon of a series of bleached, seemingly petrified skeletons of trees that emerged out of the rocky landscape. They suggested apparitions, ghostly sentinels with both arresting formal values and a curious metaphoric presence through their anthropomorphic, even surreal character.
