One of a series of paintings inspired by the Conara plantings, this work explores a people-less, contrived viewpoint discovering layers of darkness against the light, of heritage, cultural supplanting, personal histories and inheritance. The beautiful extremes of the landscape echo displacement, new territories of self and land evoking suggestions of a past elsewhere.
