By Cherry Road, Apple Country – Cradoc

Cherry Road is somewhat incongruously located in apple country at Cradoc. Captain Percy Cherry, VC MC spent his childhood here becoming a champion apple box packer at the age of 14, and competitive rower on the adjacent waterway. He enlisted in the AIF in 1915, being quickly promoted to the rank of Captain by the time of his death at the age of 21, KIA in France during March 1917; 100 years to the month of this exhibition.
