Descending Darkness, White Invaders, Richmond

Eerie silence envelopes the graveyard as darkness descends. Tombstones standing mostly erect, although some cracked and crumbling and leaning over with age, slowly decomposing, inscriptions fading. These early white pioneers now resting in the foreign Aboriginal land which they had previously invaded. The correlation of the title and this painting should be evident, as this landscape of the dead and the permanence of death, that comes to us all. But, the land remains no matter who the custodians are.
