Drawing in the Depth

The viewer’s gaze is invited to glide over the surface, to be dragged in by the net and to participate in the struggle between the surface of the painting and the illusion of depth. The view of the horizon, our natural gauge of depth in the landscape, is obscured by the net of culture.
