Freycinet,4/12/2025, 8.16pm

In these troubled times I have found myself re-visiting places that have filled me with optimism and light in the past, places and moments that live in my memory like dreamscapes. I have tried to capture and paint moments when the light plays across a landscape, full of complexity and wonder. Those moments that stop us in our tracks and make us think of our connection to place and this world we live in and share.
Such a moment happened on the 4th of December 2025, when we were at Richardson’s Beach, Freycinet, looking across to Dolphin Sands just as the sun was setting, but sadly as a fire was taking hold across the water. A transcendent moment that carried with it that element of danger and caution.
