Granville Harbour Portal #2

Granville Harbour is a tiny seaside community on Tasmania’s west coast, where the vastness of the ocean is evident in that ever-present horizon line. The tides rise and fall, exposing the shore to fast currents and the constant assault of waves powered by the Roaring Forties, wind that is unimpeded over thousands of kilometres.
I am interested in the way a landscape is viewed; as ancient and tracked with stories, as terrain refracted by abstraction and digitisation. A small rock pool caught my attention, a place of calm and beauty. It seemed as though I was looking through a window in the rocks to the sea beyond. Warming seas bring new challenges. As records are broken and the water inches higher, rocky outcrops bear witness.
