Looking glass

The tarn’s shelf in Mt Field National Park has been described as a ‘looking glass through time’, allowing you to travel back to Gondwana during the Cretaceous period.

But now we are being offered a ‘looking glass’ to the future, where bush fires burn pencil pines, killing not only the trees but their seeds.
Ecologists suggest conserving them in another location, like a sub-Antarctic island that would be safer from fire.

And where do we go, to be safe from our future?
