Making Landfall: An Eastern Connection
From an early age I travelled the East Tamar highway to visit my grandmother in Dilston where I would spend time exploring the surrounding landscape, or travelling to Georgetown to eat spaghetti at the Italian restaurant and visiting my grandfather at the home at Low Head. After her death in 1983 the need to travel along the highway diminished, but the memories of the journey and what little connections our family had to this place remained scattered along this route. Her memory is embedded and connected to me through this place.
