Maria island Sunset (with a touch of twee)

At first glance the painting seeks to attract attention with a Pre-Raphaelite approach to the Tasmanian landscape… then it does something else… a touch of twee. Maybe that speaks of a New Abstract, a gentle revolution with a harmless defiance of art convention bravely asserting a tender side in all of us… possibly tormenting those of sophistication who hide any hint of suffering from ’tweeness’.
