Moving around on the island

This work was made while undertaking a residency in Vienna and thinking about the internal movements that one undergoes while living on an island. While in Vienna, my distance from a shoreline became paramount; being land-locked made me feel more island-based that in any other location… I became extremely sensitive and nostalgic about coastlines. Having lived n many places throughout my life and remaining continually on the move, I maintain a commitment to redefining landscape through pictorial space. Shorelines and particularly the Tasmanian island are a key part of this quest.
