Murmuration over Mount Owen, Queenstown

I was particularly interested in the landscape in Queenstown….looking through Queenstown to Mount Owen. A landscape that has harsh beauty surrounded by untouched Australian bush. I don’t feel anything negative about the effect of people and industry on the landscape but enjoy the harshness of what eventuates after industry has taken what it wants from the earth. On visiting Queenstown 20 years ago I was incredibly moved by the landscape driving into Queenstown….the effect of what humans had bestowed upon the land to take what they wanted for gain. When I went to Queenstown to visit my brother, who works in the mines, I was amazed at the trees and vegetation growing through the desolate wasteland….it was like the earth was taking it all back….
