New Norfolk

The town of New Norfolk stepped unsteadily into the 21st century. The town’s major hospital founded in the 19th century – the southernmost edge can be seen to the left – closed, and the future seemed uncertain. This housing estate and new developments on the hospital site are a vote of confidence in New Norfolk and, by extension, in Tasmania.
