Old Country Midlands at Dusk
The painting reveals a certain type of landscape on at a certain time of day – low toned, melancholy, an environment stripped of topsoil, denuded and bare. This landscape hovers between present vision and memory. It is a painting about life and death about paint as an expressive and primordial medium, and the elusive link between nature and art.
