Pinner’s Pine, No. 1
Pinner’s Pine is a majestic old pine tree that grows on the pinnacle of a hill on ‘Patterdale’ in Deddington. The story goes that before WW1 two brothers for a local family climbed the hill and planted one pine tree each, One brother died in the Great War and the other returned. This tree was planted by the brother who returned. Like its planter this tree did not survive the war. On most Anzac Days the Pinner family travel back to the three and together with our local community gather and remember.
