The reward for those who dared traverse the Overland Track that winter morning was breathtaking – uninterrupted views of the snow-covered rugged landscape against a pristine blue, almost cloudless sky. The only sign that nature was changing its mood, as it often does here, was snow lightly blowing off the ridge. It wasn’t long before mist concealed the view. By then, Tasmania had already revealed some of its secrets.
