Sanctuary, Maria Island

In June 2022, my family and I visited Maria Island for the 3-day Winter Escape. As a foreigner, I was fascinated by the mob of kangaroos frolicking as the sun set and the random wombat grazing on Maria Island’s rich soil. This refuge left me with the impression that the animals that thrive here are perhaps the luckiest in the world.
