Savage River

The painting depicts the edge of the mine tailings at Savage River. I visited the place recently on a drive through the Tarkine and it immediately struck me as not only a corrupted and poisoned place, but also an intriguing place for a painter, as much of my work over the past few years has dealt with the narrative of collapse and decay through the slow passage of time.
