Scrub Water (diptych)

This work derives from a loosely collaborative process with musician/composer Julius Schwing following a day spent at the Neck, Bruny Island. With each gust of wind the canvas blew across the sand, the scrub and dunes leaving their own mark as the twigs and leaves and sand scraped the paint along the surface of the paper. Over a period of six months, we exchanged thoughts on the Neck, its geomorphology and the nexus between music, improvisation and painting.
