Sheep Country

Known as being some of the best Sheep country in the nation, the Midlands of Tasmania is estimated to run over 2 million sheep in a good year. Sheep have grazed the Midlands since early settlement in Tasmania. Any grazier will tell you that no two years are ever the same, dictated by weather and the prevailing economics of the time. With some careful management by the custodians, the land still manages to sustain a viable wool and meat industry.
