Surfers are the Worst (Shipsterns Bluff)

Home to one of the gnarliest and impressive waves in Australia, Shipstern’s Bluff itself holds a very commanding presence both in the landscape and in the psyche. I enjoy the physicalness of paint and approach painting with a similar rigour that I apply to surfing and running. There are a lot of hard miles covered for few, elated moments where everything may chance together in an effortless song. I am yet to try my luck on the double ledge of the ‘Shippies’ wave but from the shore I can start to carve a path.
