The ever present origin – art raga and yoga

Art is a support for contemplation, and contemplation is a mode of mystic perception. When the distinction between the subject (the artist) and the object of contemplation (devotional image) dissolves there is a union – yoga. Thus through the eye of contemplation, art is capable of expressing the mystical experience of transcendence.
