The Light in the Dark

Inspired by a house glimpsed at twilight through the car window north of Launceston Tasmania, the work seeks to describe the tension between the house as a place of comfort and the empty house as a place of unease. A signifier of home, nostalgia, childhood, comfort, and longing, the house is suggestive of a human presence yet also has a presence of its own.
