Views From Here

First settled by the Van Diemen’s Land Company, today Stanley is a picturesque fishing village and popular tourist destination, it’s streets are filled with beautiful gardens full of flowers that originated from Europe. Perhaps though, there lingers in the unrelenting wind a hint of the past, cries of the aboriginals massacred nearby and the moans of the convicts who laboured, and those who were sent to colonize that which was described as uninhabitable. I feel blessed however, to now have settled in this magical part of the world where inspiration is all around me and ever grateful that I live in the 21st century.
