West Tamar Highway, Tasmania

I approach the landscape not for its literal imagery, but for its associative qualities, which are reflective in a special way of living within the Tasmanian rural experience. My goal is to make the image which is strong and soft, bold and precise, beautiful an ugly, figurative and abstract, all at once. What really matters ton art making to me is a kind of awareness – a being able to say ‘I am as I am’.
