Cloudy Bay is a place I frequently paint. It is in this environment where I have lived and felt most familiar that I best reveal emotional connection. This paining came after a long period of painting ephemeral misty landscapes, and I longed for the drama of light and cloud. There was a sense of lonely determination in making this painting.
