Persephone on the Western Tiers

There are a number of personal references in this work – the remains of a hearth that speaks of the many trappers huts dotting the high country, slowly returning to the landscape, but is first the remains of a log cabin I built in Northern Tasmania, the only thing that survived a bushfire and the first of two houses I lost to fire/nature. This is not a descriptive illustration – more a memory picture – a landscape of disparate elements that rejects the futility of attempts to portray nature/landscape.
